RAM issues – RAM can be replaced or upgraded to 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or even more depending on the model

Power Supply Issues – Power supply can fail especially after a power surge or lightening strike. These can be replaced by Apple if under 3 years old or we can source second-hand power supplies, usually from overseas for older models. However, second hand parts come without warranty.

Graphics Card Issues – Lines on the screen can indicate a failed Graphics Card. These can be replaced by Apple if under 3 years old or we can source second-hand parts, usually from overseas for older models. However, second hand parts come without warranty. In some cases we can sources third party graphics crds that work on certain iMac models.

Motherboard Issues – If the motherboard (main circuitry board) or processor have failed they can be replaced by Apple if under 3 years old.  Otherwise the computer will have to be scrapped.

Second hand motherboards from overseas (USD 400 – 500) are available, but these are  “refurbished” boards by non-apple people and there is no guarantee that they will work initially or after a few months, so we recommend NOT replacing a failed motherboard with a second hand one from elsewhere.

LCD Screen Issues – These can be replaced by Apple if under 3 years old or we can source second-hand parts, usually from overseas for older models. However, second hand parts come without warranty.

The most common type of Mac Repairs are problems associated with the Operating System  (OSx or MacOS) which may have become corrupted, infected with a computer virus or malware, an OS updating issues or even suffering from the-blue-screen-of-death or kernel-panic.

A very common Mac issue happens when upgrading the Apple Operating System (OSx) to a newer version such as OS X El Capitan or MacOS Sierra

mac-apple-spinning-gearIf you see an image such as this (left) and it does not progress or go away, the OSx upgrade has not been successful and will need to be re installed completely. It could be as simple as not having enough RAM for the latest OSx or your older computer may not be compatible with the latest OSx.

We fix any of the following Macintosh operating systems from  Mac OS X v10.0 (Cheetah), Mac OS X v10.1 (Puma), Mac OS X v10.2 (Jaguar), Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther), Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger), Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard), Mac OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard), Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion), OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion), OS X v10.9 (Mavericks), OS X v10.10 (Yosemite) to the latest OS X El Capitan or MacOS Sierra
