If windows defender fails you need to use a commercial virus removal tool. Sorry.

This worked like a charm. OMG thank you for saving us almost 60.00 as i was on my way to best buy.

You do not need a commercial tool. See this guide right here:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-security-pro

Basically, use Rkill.exe in Safe Mode w/ Networking to remove the active processes. Then install/update Malwarebytes. Run full scan while in Safe Mode and it should remove everything.

I had this problem and contacted Norton because I had their Anti virus which did not pick up this threat. Like you I could not access a browser and the Antivirus Pro had disabled all means of disabling it. This is what to do.It works.

First enter this code number into the Antivirus Pro: Antivirus Security Pro Activation code: AA39754E-715219CE

Second: Let it go through the cleaning process and it will say that all threats are gone.

Thirdly: Antivirus Pro will now be appearing on the program list. Go to programme uninstall and uninstall. This will uninstall it from your computer. Reboot when finished. Good luck.

This worked! Clicked on the ‘i already have a code’ button – ran the scan and then did an uninstall.
Thank you so much for posting this code, saved me hours of messing around and probably paying the IT guy $$$$ 🙂

Newer versions of this virus disable access to drives so any bootable CD (Defender, AVG Rescue do not work. So James why would I want to activate a Scam software with Code provided???????

    • admin - November 23, 2013 Reply

We’ve not come across that version of the scam …. I find it strange that you cannot boot into BIOS and configure the boot order to go to the CD/DVD drive or USB. If you want to post some more details here, we’d be happy to investigate.

Have a look at this post we recently made, just in case it helps http://www.itguyswa.com/remove-99-computer-viruses-malware-adware-free/

Thanks for the information on “Antivirus Security Pro” which you indicated was a fake site which only wants to take our money with nothing for the customer but problems – it’s a useful resource tool that should solve the removal problem of this software and I’ve bookmarked this site for future reference.
Are there any other antivirus blogs (or web resources in general) that you can recommend to me?
    Cheers!
