update-to-ios-10

Apple's latest iOS update has just come available as on 13th September 2016, featuring a huge amount of new features and fixes.

However, unlike previous updates, this one is particularly large and even Apple do not advise making the change before backing up your or iPad first. We recommend doing this using your charger cable connecting your iPhone/iPad to your /Macbook via a port rather than an iCloud .

If the update goes wrong…. you are in danger of wiping all the data from your iPhone or iPad. Updating and backing up via Apple is strongly recommended.

Connect iPhone/iPad to your iMac/Macbook

With full backup completed, downloading and updating your iPhone/iPad to iOS 10 can commence.

As the download is a large one (1.1 GB), ensure your iMac/Macbook is connected to the power supply and ideally is connected to the Internet via an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

A power failure or interrupted internet connection may result in your iPhone or iPad being “bricked” (become unusable). If this happens follow the advice of the following post.
