Connect iPhone/iPad to your Windows 10 PC/Laptop Depending on how you have Windows 10 configured, on plugging in your device iTunes may launch automatically or Windows picture importer may start (see below) If this happens, you will need to select iTunes from the Start menu Don’t have iTunes? Download iTunes for Windows here. To , backup and update your iPhone/iPad using iTunes, you must be running version 12.5.1 or later, so follow prompts and allow installation. iTunes and Windows 10 may require confirmation that they trust each other before you can proceed. Confirm trust on iPhone/iPad Confirm trust on iTunes Upon starting iTunes it will check to see if any updates are required, if prompted, update to the latest version. select “Download iTunes” Latest version of iTunes will be downloaded via the Apple Software updater If iTunes is still open during the update, you maybe prompted to close. With iTunes updated, iTunes will launch, select the iPhone/iPad symbol iOS 10 needs 1.1 GB Free for the installation. Free computer fix that works in over 50% of computer cases
We fix 10 – 20 client problems per day and one simple Free computer fix technique solves a surprising amount of problems. No matter what device you are using albeit running Windows 10, 8 or 7 or Mac OS or Mac iOS, this simple trick can fix many confounding issues that appear to unfixable. I know you’ve heard this many, many times before, but let my colleague Roy explain… …. and if that doesn’t work, make sure you know if the problem is with a PC or a Mac… Love The IT Crowd show…. 🙂 But joking apart …. unless your device/computer/laptop is completely switched off (powered off)…vital fixes and updates may not install and this is what often fixes many issuues. Closing the lid on a laptop does NOT shut down a Laptop. No matter what device you have be it PC or MAC try a hard-reboot.…. by holding down the power or on-off button for at least 30 seconds and until all lights, fan noises etc have stopped. Leave the device another 15 seconds or so (longer if it’s running too hot) and then use the power button to start it up again…… this is when you may well see something like this…. Macbooks, Air’s, iPad ‘s and Phones are no different……… powering them on and off fixes many many issues. Having Problems with Mac Apps not working? On a Mac PC or Laptop running OSx They probably need updating or re-installing. Go to the Apple App Store and check for any available updates .Or by going through “System Preferences” And selecting “App Store” If any apps have available updates …simply install them and try the app again. On an iPad or iPhone Look for the “App Store” icon and click it …. you will be taken to a screen similar to the following Some of your Apps may have pending updates, see the bottom right of the screen. If there is a number in the “Updates” icon, that number represents the number of available updates. If there is no number, everything is up to date. Click on the number to see what updates are available. A list of available updates is shown, either select each one individually or select “Update All” in the top right. Mac Memory Upgrades
Memory Upgrades are available on most Apple Mac Computers iMac, Macbook, Mac Mini, Macbook Air Most Mac Computers can be upgraded with more memory to make it run like a new model. Memory can be in the form of RAM or Storage Space such as HDD or SSD If your computer does not have a minimum of 4MB RAM memory that will need to be upgraded to run the latest operating systems such as Sierra and High Sierra but the biggest performance upgrade is to replace the standard Hard Disk (HDD) with a super fast Solid State Drive (SSD) Very old models may not be able to be upgraded to the latest Operating System but will still benefit from an increase in memory. Hard Disk Drives (HDD) over 4 years old should be replaced with another HDD or SSD. This alone will give a noticeable performance increase. To find out if or how much your Apple Computer can be upgraded, you firstly need your computers serial number which can be found on the underside of MacBooks or the base of the stand on iMacs or click on “About this Mac“. Once you have your serial number send an email to support@itguyswa.com and we can then give you a written quote of options that will suit your Apple Most early Mac’s were shipped with as little as 512 MB of RAM (Internal Memory for running programs) new Mac’s are now supplied with either 8 or 16 GB, this is the amount of memory Apple recommends for their latest operating systems such as High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina or Big Sur and a warning here, if you wish to upgrade to the latest operating systems such your Mac will need a MINIMUM of 8GB RAM Depending on the age of your Mac, you can upgrade RAM up to 32 GB but it varies per model. Having problems accessing your Gmail account using Outlook?
We recently came across an issue when Authentication would not work when configuring Microsoft Outlook 2016 to connect to a client’s Gmail account. We’d never encountered this before but noticed a new couple of extra lines in the Set up Gmail with Outlook, Apple Mail, or other mail clients google page In the ongoing war-of-words between Google and Microsoft, Google has deemed Microsoft Outlook to be a “Less Secure App” and Gmail users are being forced to access this page and grant access for less secure apps such as Microsoft Outlook Google even go as far as taking a swipe at Apple and Mozilla by quoting the following: “Some examples of apps that do not support the latest security standards include: The Mail app on your iPhone or iPad with iOS 6 or below The Mail app on your Windows phone preceding the 8.1 release Some Desktop mail clients like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird” ..in an article called “Allowing less secure apps to access your account” So if you suddenly stop being able to access your Gmail e-mail using Microsoft Outlook, then you know why and how to fix the issue. :jk:
